PEGASUS

Description

Pegasus Airlines was established in 1990 as a joint venture between Aer Lingus, Silkar Yat?r?m and Net Holding in Istanbul. Pegasus operated its first flight in May 1990 and it started its journey with just two aircraft. Throughout its successful 19-year history, Pegasus has become one Turkey’s leading airlines and currently has scheduled and charter flights to more than 100 different destinations in 17 countries. Today it has a fleet of 32 aircraft, including 22 state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800s, two Boeing 737-400s and three Boeing 737-500s. In addition, it provides wet leasing services to the other airlines when they need extra capacity besides their charter operations.

Pegasus aims for the highest operational standards in order to provide secure, comfortable and punctual flights for its passengers. Pegasus operations are certified by Turkey’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation in accordance with regulations JAR-OPS 1 and JAR- FCL. Also, Pegasus possesses the ISO 9001-2000 certificate confirmed by SGS, the inspection, verification, testing and certification services company, which is accredited by United Kingdom Accreditation Service.

Training is one of the priorities for Pegasus. We provide crew, pilot and technical training to the other airlines in the domestic sector as well as maintenance services.

Esas Holding acquired Pegasus Airlines in full in January 2005. Today, Ali Sabanc? is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Sertac Haybat is the General Manager of Pegasus.
