TAROM

TAROM

Description

In 1992 TAROM started an intensive modernizing process of its fleet. Two AIRBUS A-310 aircraft were purchased in 1992, two BOEING 737 in 1993, and three other 737 were purchased in 1994. Since 1998 short and medium-range ATR 42-500 and four other BOEING 737 aircraft entered the TAROM fleet. Financing this ambitious strategy was not an easy task: since 1992, TAROM has spent more than USD 350 million in purchasing new aircraft and equipment. TAROM intends to continue this modernization process by ordering other modern aircraft. TAROM has today a fleet of 24 aircrafts.  At the end of March 2007, IATA granted TAROM the IOSA certification (IATA Operational Safety Audit) which proves TAROM meets the global flight safety standards.
